How it works
How to use your Highmark Health Options coverage at Stellar.
Three steps, and you only need to handle the first one. Stellar's team handles everything else.
2. Free Medicaid evaluation
At the visit, our orthodontist completes a full exam, takes diagnostic photos and x-rays, and scores the HLD Index. You leave knowing whether your child qualifies for Highmark-covered braces.
3. We submit pre-auth
If your child qualifies, our team submits the complete pre-authorization package to Highmark electronically. Approval typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. Once approved, we schedule braces placement.
4. Treatment begins
Braces are placed in a single appointment. You return every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments with the same Stellar orthodontist. No member cost-share for the covered Highmark Medicaid services.
